Routine surgical procedures are carried out at all of the clinics, but the majority of operations ( ranging from the simplest neutering procedures to somewhat more complex orthopaedic and soft tissue, and most emergency cases ) are carried out at our recently enlarged modernised and refurbished Hartlepool surgery where we offer the following:
Car parking at both the front and rear of the premises
Two new dedicated operating theatres
A new large prep / dental and non – sterile operating theatre
Separate dog / cat and small furries waiting rooms
Separate dog and cat wards – all patients provided with vet bedding
Extra- large walk in kennels for giant dogs
In house laboratory testing
Import and export certification
We can, and indeed do make house calls, but in most instances we would request pets be brought to the surgery where we are better enabled to examine and treat them.
OUT OF HOURS AND EMERGENCIES
As many clients will be aware, this practice has always provided its own out of hours cover for emergencies and urgent cases. In effect this means that the vet who is called out in the middle of the night will have been working all day, and will be working the following day. Recently we have been experiencing a prolonged period of understaffing which inevitably means fewer vets to share the out of hours duties. This has led us to the conclusion that the best interests of our patients will be served by the practice using the services of a dedicated out of hours emergency service whose vets work only at night and weekends and specialise in emergency work. From the 29th of September 2014 we shall be using the service provided by Vets Now in Middlesbrough, and when clients phone outside normal hours for help or advice our answering machine will redirect them to the Vets Now number. 01642 217605
We are confident that Vets Now provide a highly experienced and professional service, and we shall of course liaise with them closely to ensure that our clients and patients receive the best possible care.
